Fisher Price Little People Nativity Review

I have been wanting to purchase the Little People Nativity for a few years.  I just couldn’t bring myself to spend $40+ on a toy that is really only good for one month of the year. I knew it would be PERFECT for one of our 25 Days of Christmas activities but the price tag was just a little much.  Well… Family Christian Bookstore currently has these babies on sale for $29.99, so I took the plunge and I’m so glad I did.

I will admit, when I found the box sitting in the store I was a little nervous.  It’s quite small and I’m thinking… really… $30 for this? But I could tell from the advertisements that there were several pieces included so I went ahead and made my purchase.  Once I got home, I opened it up.

This was how it looked when I first opened the box.  Packed in there quite nicely huh?  Well, then I dumped it all out.  I was shocked how much was packed into that little box!

I was thrilled to find that this set is the same Fisher Price quality I’m used to!  I was a little nervous that they would have cut corners because it’s a seasonal/religious toy.  I was relieved that all the pieces had the exact details and quality as all of our Little People.

Because I thought it would be cruel and unusual punishment to set something like this all up and not let the littles play for a few minutes, I decided to let the kids have at it.  They thought it was great!  Wanted to bring several other animals into the mix from our other sets (I believe an elephant was in the stable at one point).

I eventually had to end the fun though and boxed it all back up to be presented as one of our 25 Days of Christmas activities.  Usually the nativity is the Christmas Eve gift but I’m thinking it needs to be one of the first ones so they can play with it for the month of December.  Either way, this toy is totally worth the purchase and I am confident your kids will outgrow it before it’s worn out.

  • Bought 2 sets – one for each grandchild – after clicking on the picture. 🙂 Would love to find the shepherd add-on sets. Any ideas?
