It is crazy how people are brought into your life. As many of you know, I am a teacher at one of our local elementary schools. I love my job. The kids are great, the families are wonderful. and the colleagues are simply superb. In 2013 I left my 5th grade teaching position, to venture to my current 2nd grade position. With that move, there was a vacancy created for a 5th grade teacher. The committee hired Tara, and I am ever so thankful that they did.
She is a fireball and I loved being across the hallway from her. In a strange twist of events, she just so happened to need a sitter at the last minute, and came upon the best babysitter in town – Danielle. So now, Tara was connected to us in two ways.
Well, life being…life, Tara and her family relocated about 2.5 hours away at the close of the school year. It was very bittersweet. So sad that a wonderful teacher and friend was leaving, but so exciting for their family.
After a few months in their new location, Tara stumbled upon the skincare line by Rodan + Fields. If you are not familiar with their products, they are the masterminds behind Proactiv. Please feel free to read more about them here.
This company was created for independent business owners (think Thirty-One, Tupperware, Pampered Chef, the list could go on…). Tara has taken on one of these consultant roles and contacted us to see if we would give the products that are used in their facial kit a test drive. Needless to say, we gladly accepted.
The mini facial kit included Enhancements Micro-Dermabrasion Paste (ouch, but a good ouch), Redefine Night Renewing Serum, and Redefine Lip Renewing Serum.
The process was easy. At night we washed our face as per usual. Then we applied the Redefine Night Renewing Serum. It was seriously like applying a layer of silk to my face. I don’t even think that my moisturizer goes on that smoothly. Then we applied the Redefine Lip Renewing Serum. I was a bit concerned about this one…afraid it was going to plump my lips and sting. Not the case at all. It was just as silky as the Night Renewing Serum and made my lips oh so smooth.
The next morning was when each of us applied the Enchancement Micro-Dermabrasion Paste (insert a good ouch). This product was massaged onto dry skin. I have more sensitive skin, so I needed to add a bit of water. We all found that it removed some seriously dead skin; leaving our face feel clean and smooth.
We were each given enough samples for two days, so we repeated each step once.
I, Sami, had some serious post-baby acne. Some new and some healing. While it was the more uncomfortable step out of the 3 for the mini facial, the micro-dermabrasion definitely cleared away some of the older residue from the the “healing” acne. Danielle and Hilary enjoyed the amount of grime this step removed as well.

I wish you a wonderful Thursday. Our’s is filled with moving rooms in our home and putting together a new wooden swing set for the little man. Our family members were great and everyone agreed to go in on a gift that will last a lifetime (well, his childhood lifetime anyway).
