the domestic tales of four sisters

Teacher Planner with FrEeBiEs!!

Here in good ol’ PA we have experienced a wonderful taste of fall.  The temperature Wednesday only reached a high of 74 degrees and the temperatures for the night were forecasted to be 49 degrees.

While sitting in a training for this upcoming school year I couldn’t help but continually quote Joe Fox from You’ve Got Mail.  Speaking to Kathleen Kelly he is going on about how much he loves New York in the fall and he delivers a line that has stuck with me since… “It makes me want to buy school supplies.  I’d send you a bouquet of newly-sharpened pencils if I knew your name and address.”  This has been a dream of mine since I have watched that movie, receiving a bouquet of newly-sharpened pencils…and not from Joe Fox (aka Tom Hanks).

I’m a nerd, I know…and I fully embrace it.

I LOVE getting ready for the school year.  Seeing the end of summer approaching does not get me all bummed out for the most part.  For some reason, I smile and get all giggly inside as I know that the first day is around the corner.  This year is a bit different as I cannot spend COUNTLESS hours in my classroom with the addition of Baby B. …But thankfully he is a super baby and does not mind knocking out a few hours here and there in the classroom with his momma.  🙂  Only a few more trips and we will be all set for the August 26th start date.

Part of getting ready for the new school year means having a place to plan out the adventurous days that await you and your students.  Two years ago, Husband allowed me to get an Erin Condren teacher planner.  I. Was. In. Heaven.  I have a serious infatuation with her items.  I had scored a $50 gift card for $25 on One Kings Lane.  So we said that it would be my birthday gift (it’s nice being an August baby) and I loved opening that puppy daily.  HOWEVER, I was only able to have that sweetness for that year.  The ’12-’13 school year was when we were planning for Baby B and any extra monies went to getting things ready for him and this year is truly not different now that we must purchase things (read diapers, wipes, formula…) for the cutie-patootie.  I don’t mind at all.  While I adore Erin Condren’s things, I didn’t mind making the item that would take its place.

Last year I didn’t take as much time as I have this year.  The fReEbIeS that I am going to share with you today are the updated ones that I have spent a bit more time on and will be printing to use for this year.

You’ll need a binder, tab dividers, paper and a printer.  That’s. It.

Please note in the picture of my planner from last year I have a calendar section.  I did not offer a calendar in the freebies, because those are readily available in Microsoft Word and that’s where I printed mine from.  Here  are a few snapshots for you…

’12-’13 Lesson Plans???????????????????????????????

IMG_0689I copied “Lesson Plan 1” front and back to save paper.  …Just a suggestion…

**You will notice in both the snap shot of the tab dividers and in the freebies that there are “family contact info” and “parent contact log”.  I did not show pics of those as I had to shred them since there was confidential information in them.**

I am looking forward to putting this together.  The graphics and small layout changes for this year have me all giddy and excited! Baby B and I will be camped out at school today and tomorrow with hopes of finishing the last few things (the planner being one of those).

I hope these are of great use to you and that you and your’s are anxiously awaiting the start of your school year.  I’m sure moms out there are wayyyyy more excited for the starting day of the ’13-’14 school year…no worries – it is definitely earned after busy summers.
